Despite reaching retirement age, Kogi born clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Ataba Sani-Omolori will spend another five years as the National Assembly clerk.
Omolori who was appointed as the National Assembly Clerk on August 15, 2016 started his career in Civil Service, February 6, 1985 which supposed to have been due for retirement last Month but will now spend another five years as a result of the amendment of condition of service of the Nigeria National Assembly Staff.
The amendment of the condition of service of National Assembly staff which will allow the Kogi born National Assembly Clerk to spend five more years has been largely criticized as illegal on the ground that it doesn't follow the legal procedures.
According to National Assembly sources, the bill for the amendment of the National Assembly staff that favoured Omolori tagged "Retirement age and conditions of Service bill" does not follow the Assembly tradition of public hearing and was passed without Presidential assent.

According to the source, all the staff of the National Assembly are beneficiaries of the amendment adding that, Omolori who is the clerk of the National Assembly and his House of Representative counterpart, Giwa Anonkhai and the National Assembly Secretary, Ajakaye were the direct beneficiaries as they were all due for retirement.
