How Ebira Born Striker, Eneramo Helped Nigeria Qualify For Worldcup But Never Allow To Play
Michael Eneramo, born November 26, 1985 in Kaduna State is an indigene of Kogi State who hailed from Okehi Local Government Area of the State. Eneramo was a highly rated striker and deadly in front line during his early days of playing football.
In 2010 Michael Eneramo was the top scorer for his Tunisian club, Esperance, scoring eight goals to help his club qualify for the final of CAF Champions League but defeated by TP Mazembe, he also scored five league goals which helped his club won the Tunisian Ligue 1 in 2010.
Eneramo fame continued in 2010 when Goal.com listed him as one of the top ten Nigerian footballers which earned him a top spot in Super Eagle front line.
Eneramo was an important player who helped Nigeria qualified for 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He scored Nigeria's second goal with just 10 minutes left for final whistle in a decisive match against Tunisia in Abuja National Stadium which ended 2:2 draw.
Eneramo's goal came after the then Russia-based Osaze Odemwingie opened Nigeria scoreline with 23 minutes into the match.
Unfortunately for Michael Eneramo, he was snubbed during the selection for both African Cup of Nation and World Cup after Samson Siasia took over from Coach Amodu Shaibu.
The highly rated Kogi born striker ran out of favour after Samson Siasia took over the Super Eagle and was never given the chance to prove himself even after helping Nigeria to qualify for the world cup.
During his stay in Tunisia Esperance between 2004-2010, the deadly striker scored 51 goals in 86 appearances for his club.
Eneramo who started his football career from Lobi Stars of Makurdi also played for USM Alger, Al-Shabab (KSA), Sivasspor, Besiktas, Karabükspor, Basaksehir, Manisaspor, Al-Ettifaq .
In 2018, he signed for Turk Ocarqi Limassol of Turkish Cyprus in a four month deal.
