US Issues New Travel Ban on Nigeria, Sudan Others
The united States of America has issued new travel ban on the citizens of Nigeria, Eritrea Myanmar, Sudan, Tanzania and Kyrgyzstan and will no longer be allowed to apply for visas to immigrate to the United States.
According to the new restriction by Donald Trump administration, people from the affected countries will still be able to visit the U.S. as tourists.
Wall Street Journal had reported that Trump administration said the policy was designed to tighten security for countries that don’t comply with the U.S. minimum security standards or cooperate to prevent illegal immigration from their respective countries into the United States.
According to the policy, citizens of Sudan and Tanzania going to US will be barred from participating in the diversity visa lottery, which randomly awards green cards to 50,000 immigrants from underrepresented countries annually.
According to the report, the new restrictions will commence on February 21 and will apply only to new visa applications by the affected countries.
