The Real Reason Olisa Metuh Is Sentenced to 7years Imprisonment

With the ruling of the federal High Court, Abuja who sentenced former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh to seven years imprisonment, the real reason for the ruling has emerged.

Apart from the fact that the former National Publicity Secretary was sentenced on corruption charges, the fulcrum of the judgement lies on his activities preceding the 2015 presidential election which his party lost to APC.

In the judgment which lasted for six hours, Justice Abang ruled and convicted Metuh amongst other counts that he fraudulently received N400m from the office of the embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki in 2014 and used the money for political and personal purposes.
In the proceedings which lasted for Sox hours, Justice Okon Abang, convicted Metuh on all the seven counts.

The judgment which also directed Metuh to pay a fine of N375m to the federal government further convicted him of transferring 2M dollars without following due process.

Meanwhile, the former Minister of Aviation and Chieftain of PDP Femi Fani Kayode has exonerated Metuh of any corruption charges, saying he is one of the political prisoners in the country which he said will come out stronger.
