Opinion: If Governor Yahaya Bello Must Fail | Aliyu Mahmud Amoto

The most puzzling question running through the minds of majority of Kogites right now is if Governor Yahaya Bello will be voted back to office considering the accusations and counter accusationss that trails his government, Indeed it is good to have access to both sides of a story. It allows one to reach an unbiased conclusion as much as ones conscience will permit. In the past few months, I've been privileged to some informations I never had access to as regard the new Direction Government.
Gov. Yahaya Bello

People who happen to have a close contact with him to some extent admit that the fourth Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a compassionate man,  And the reaction of people from the streets most time that I engage in discussion with them about Governor Yahaya Bello is nothing short of this, they admit to like one or two things about him but they seem to have some reservations especially his slow attitude towards payment of salary.

This brings me to the puzzling question begging for answers. what has Governor Yahaya Bello done wrong or rather where has He go wrong that have so much translated to songs of hatred and murmuring of displeasure we are hearing from every nooks and crannies of the State? This is a question every man of goodwill interested in the progress of the State must ask, it is pertinent to find the cause of an illness first before going ahead to prescribe the cure.

It is an already established fact that salaries running into months are being owed and the State Government is making frantic efforts to offset this deficit of salary payment. Now that we know the cause of the discordant tune coming from the masses,  the question we should be asking is what is the way forward? Am very much convinced the Governor is not pleased with the state of civil servants affairs.

If Governor Yahaya Bello is a good man as admitted by many who have come across him yet majority of the general masses are yet to realise that it means something is wrong somewhere, it is either the power besorted people around the Governor have been lying to him about the true situation of things on ground. Naturally, the People around the Governor have the privilege of access to first hand information from the general masses and it is expected they convey the message to the Governor now matter how bitter or harsh it may sound to the ears. This is what is expected of a true follower who is interested in the progress of his or her principal but the reverse seems to be the case here. Many of them seems to be more concerned about their personal gain at the detriment of the Governor's progress.

The outcome of the last recall confirmed to me the Governor is truly out of sync with the happenings out there, to some extent I was happy how it turned out. For one single reason, It gave the Governor the opportunity to separate the chaffs among his political appointees. It was obvious and glaring to distinguish between the ones with aptitude to deliver when called upon and the ones that lacks the warewithal. Majority of the appointees who are the major beneficiary of Governor Yahaya Bello act of benovelence have performed below average, the few who have performed did that on their own name.

In the history of Kogi State. No Governor has ever toyed with payment of salaries and get voted back into office for second tenure. Why then are you people hailing my Governor to failure? Why then have you people refused to advise him? Why then are you people so self centered to the point of amassing wealth for yourselves without consideration for your principals progress? The onus is on you appointees to relate the message of the masses to the Governor, please do not hail my Governor to failure. failure as defined in the dictionary is the State or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, opposite of success. If Governor Yahaya Bello must fail please the people around him should be loyal enough to guide him through the right path,  do not hail my Governor to failure.

For the love of Yahaya Bello
For the love of brotherhood
For the love of Kogi central
For the love of Kogi State

Tell my Governor to pay Salaries and settle with the agrieved party members else 2019 is not going to be an easy walk over for him.

God bless My people
