Natasha/GYB Need Political Force to Revive Ajaokuta | H. A. Bashir

Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd have for a while being the second name of Natasha Akpoti courtesy of her continuous struggle to see a working steel complex. In the course of this struggle, a lot of like minds emerged as well as enemies who are poised in their greedy venture to impede every attempt to revive the steel complex.

The reason why the giant steel plant is in the present comatose state cannot be unconnected to the "lack of political will" of those in authority and efforts have been  put together to make them realize the yearnings of common Nigerians that are left with their own self to sponsor their education till graduation even without any assurance of getting jobs after graduation.

Natasha Akpoti among other patriotic Nigerians have laboured day and night to see Ajaokuta steel complex running, engaged in different approaches ranging from charging Ajaokuta cases to court, appearing on public television to expose those that are against the revamping of Ajaokuta even when they claimed otherwise in the open.

Recently, was a reconciliation with the head of the government of Kogi State which appeared to everybody as a miracle but to some an attempt to damage her hard earned reputation. Both opinions appeared to be truth until I realized that without the capacity to influence others, our ability to make our vision a reality remains elusive after all, no one can do it alone.

Kogi state government on her own side has claimed severally their zeal and commitments towards reviving the steel complex and I see the reconciliation of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and Natasha Akpoti to be a coming together of two giant forces to revive Ajaokuta.

It's part of the brilliant words of Albert Einstein that says "All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded the individual", this made me to believe that no sacrifice is enormous to give development to human society. Maybe, I would have still remain a doubting Thomas as regard the reconciliation of the two icons until after barely a week, a news broke that Fatti Bombom received full scholarship of over 30 million naira from GYB's personal pocket upon intervention of Natasha Akpoti. Then, I was forced to reckon with Nelson Mandela's words: "No single person can liberate a country, you can only liberate a country if you act as a collective".

We have started witnessing development just few days after reconciliation and I believe in more growth and development to our dear state and unstoppable force to revive Ajaokuta. "Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed to the sun, one's feet moving forward" ~ Nelson Mandela.

I urge all well meaning Kogites to keep on praying for GYB and Natasha to see Ajaokuta Steel of Our dream because despite reconciliation, the golden goal to revive Ajaokuta Steel Complex Ltd (ASCL) for Nigerians remain unaltered. Let's join hands together to promote unity, peace and development in our dear state.
