The violence that took over the governorship and senatorial elections in Kogi state has resulted in the death of a nephew to Senator Dino Melaye, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the re-run for the legislative seat.

Two persons reportedly lost their lives in Abocho community in Dekina local government area during the Saturday governorship election in Kogi state. The Natives gave the names of the victims as Umoru shuaib and Faruk Suleiman.

Suspected thugs alleged to be working for the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, attacked the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Barr Natasha Akpoti at the stakeholders' meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja.
