Adavi Administrator sets to transform basic education

The Administrator of Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami is in partnership with teachers to make basic education affordable and attractive in the area.


Hon. Joseph Salami stated this in his speech during the management meeting with all School Heads, District School Supervisors and UBE (JSS) Principals at Adavi Local Government Education Authority (Model) School, Ogaminana.

He assured primary school teachers of his administration commitment to their welfare as all the teachers having one challenge or the other from last screening exercise will be adequately addressed.

Adavi Administrator appealed to the warring groups in the Nigeria Union of Teachers' Executive election impasse to refrain from anything that could rupture the peace of Adaviland.

He assured that the NUT crisis will be resolved amicably as he will liase with the two groups for labour peace in the basic education sector.

Hon. Joseph reminded the School  Administrators that school feeding programme will commence this month and charged the school heads to be alive to their official responsibilities for the success of the programme.

He commended the Governor of kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for adding another feather to his numerous landmark achievements and the School Feeding Programme in the State.

He said the State Government has set up a committee on welfare salary payment of Teachers and Pensioners to work modalities for their transfer to Kogi SUBEB and Bureau of Local Government Pension.

Hon. Joseph Salami who was ably represented at the meeting by the Public Relations Officer of the Council, Mall. Obeitor Shaibu Hassan reminded Adavi  Teachers to continue to support the government of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello by discharging their duties to better the lots of the pupils and Students as future leaders.

Earlier, Adavi Education Secretary, Pastor Isaiah A. Matthew said Teachers in the area are very dedicated and ready to work for proper upbringing of the pupils and students.

He appreciated the Governor on the appointment of Hon. Joseph Salami as Adavi LGA Administrator and assured the Administrator of their loyalty to move education forward in the area.

Pastor Isaiah Matthew enumerated some of the challenges confronting teachers in the area which included cleared and not paid teachers, outstanding arrears of cleared teacher  since 2016, no overhead cost to run the office and many teachers short paid with reduced grade levels.

Adavi Education Secretary appealed to the Council Administrator to look into those challenges to make desirable in the education sector.

In the vote of thanks, the Head of School Services, Mall. Sheibu Ohieiza Otura thanked the Local Government and Teachers for their collaborative effort to promote education.
