INEC, REC Endorse Congress As Abdullahi Bello Emerges Kogi APC Chairman

A Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, Hon. Abdullahi Bello has emerged as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi chapter.




At the Congress held at the Confluence Stadium, Mr. Ibrahim Adbulrahman emerged as the state Deputy Chairman and Mr Josiah Onoja, Secretary.

Aside from Bello, Abdulrahman and Onoja, 34 other persons were elected by affirmation into various positions to make the state executive council of the party.

Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. James Apam led other officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to monitor the congress.

The INEC REC noted that his presence at the Confluence stadium venue of the congress has foreclosed any insinuation that a parallel congress took place.

Presiding over the election that ended in consensus and affirmation, the Chairman of the APC National Committee for Kogi state, Mamman Ali charged the newly elected Exco to carry every body along in the affairs of the party.

He noted that the election of positions in the Exco ended in consensus as candidate on their own unanimously resolved to pick a candidate for each position .
Ali pointed out that 1,305 delegates were presented to the committee but 1,017 came out for accreditation.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected state Chairman, Abdullahi Bello promised that the Exco will adhere to the philosophy of the party, noting that they will take the party to the grassroots to make it viable.

He assured that every member both old and new would be treated as one without discrimination, adding that the Exco will play politics of inclusion.
