Adavi Administrator Assures Physically Challenged Persons of His Readiness to Carry them Along

The Administrator of Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami, has assured the physically challenged person of the readiness of his administration to carry them along in the scheme of things.



The council boss dislcossed this on Friday when the Association of Physically Challenged Persons, Kogi Central Senatorial District paid him a solidarity visit in his office.

He noted that since the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello recognised the disabled person in their government, he will not hesitate to take care of their plight, adding that he is running people inclusive government and the door to his office is always open to accommodate everybody irrespective of their status.

G He explained that the new direction policy of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is determined to prove to the world that physical disablility  is not a barrier to a willing soul.

He added that he want to correct the wrong insinuation that once a person is disabled that there is absolutely nothing that can come out of the person, nothing that it is left to the physically challenged persons to prove that disability  is never a barrier to accomplishment of success in life.

According to him, physically challenged like; blind, deaf, dumb, lame and any other forms of disabilities have a right to live, develop  their innate skills and engaged in productive ventures to earn a living.


To demonstrate what he said,  the Administrator  pledged to appoint one of them as his Special Assistant, imploring them to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) for them to exercise their franchise during the forthcoming election.

Speaking earlier, the president of the disabled persons, Umar Zakari, appealed to the Administrator to carry them along in the scheme of things and that their  challenges should not be seen as deficiency as there is always ability in disabilities.

Also speaking, Comrade Ahmed Barnabas Monday, appreciated the kindhearted council boss for granting and honouring their coming, describing him as a humane leader who has the interest of his people at heart.
He said they shouldn't be discriminated as a result of their challenges.

Monday further solicited for their inclusiveness in the government of Hon. Joseph O. Salami in order to have a sense of belonging.

Giving the closing remark, the president of disabled persons, Usman Zakari appreciated the Administrator for the honour bestowed on them. He prayed for God's continual protection in the life of Hon. Joseph and Alh. Yahaya Bello.
