2019: Asuku Identifies with his People, Attends Colourful Eche-Ane Festival

In a way of promoting the indeginious culture, the aspirant vying to represent the people of Adavi Local Government Area come 2019 under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC),  Ishaq Asuku Ilyas on Thursday graced the Eche-Ane cultural festival ongoing at his local government.



The aspirant was present at Kuroko and Adavi Eba ward to identify with his people and further stressed that he is ready to represent the council in all fora.

The aspirant and his campaign team witnessed the colourful festival In ground style as he paid homage to the Administrator of
the council, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami.

Speaking at the occasion, Asuku said, "there is no better way to explore and experience Ebira rich cultural heritage than joining in the colourful celebration at the kuroko and Adavi Eba ward to celebrate the Eche-Ane cultural festival", he said.

He stressed that the festival is not just a display of tradition but a display of unity in totality, urging all Ebiras from all works of life to see the festival as a moment of sober reflection of what the ancestors intended to achieve with the festival to.

According to him, peaceful and harmonious existence is what the festival tends to mark, adding that  the peaceful manner the festival is being celebrated shows that peace has come to stay in Ebiraland and years of troubles are far behind the people of Ebira.

Commending the governor of Kogi State, Alh.Yahaya Bello, he said his giant strides on security has provided a conducive environment for peace to strive in the state.

The aspirant thereafter charged all young people to uphold the values of Ebira forefathers and not shy away from the collective heritage.

Eche-Ane is the biggest cultural festival in Adavi local government, celebrated annually across all the eleven Wards of the council.

During the festival, masquerades are always on ground to display the uniqueness of Ebira culture.
