Gov. Bello Grants Fatima Sani full Scholarship Upon Natasha's Intervention - Hamza Lamisi

The Executive governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello through the intervention of Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti has given a full academic scholarship to Fatima Bombom Sani an Adavi born indigene of the State who set all-time new record at the Nigeria Law School (NLS) after attaining a nation-wide unprecedented First Class Honors at the 2015 Call to Bar.



The governor made the scholarship known at the Kogi state Government House Lokoja today the 20th of May 2018 upon receiving Natasha, Fatima and her relatives.

Saddened by the low level of support from relevant authories, privillaged individuals and organizations, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti had on the 27th of April 2018 via her facebook page, advocated for sponsorship to help Fatima further her academic dreams having performed geniusly at the 2015 Bar exam where she bagged nine separate awards including “Best Student of the Year and Council of Education Star Award.

Natasha sought the intervention of the Kogi State Governor who was not only surprised but disappointed that Fatima was left unsupported while no information was brought to his office with respect to her case. “I heard about your exceptional performance at the Nigerian Law School in 2015 and assumed you were recognized and sponsored by the administration of the day.

"It’s unacceptable that such brilliancy is not celebrated and promoted. Nevertheless, now that your genuine self is before me, I shall grant you a personal scholarship to celebrate your exceptionality and help your career defining goals”. Gov. Bello said.

After some enquiries and validation of Fatima's credentials, the Governor in his personal capacity declared a full scholarship for Fatima to study Masters in Finance Law at the Colombian Law School, st the United States of America.

The governor thanked Natasha Akpoti for her humanitarian efforts in bringing Fatima’s issue while urging Fatima to uphold her academic excellence at her forthcoming Masters program, make Nigeria proud and return home to serve her fatherland.

In her joyful expression of gratitude, Natasha equally thanked the Governor for his prompt benevolence and honour for promoting academic excellence. “We must celebrate heroes like Fatima in other to motivate young people especially girls towards exceptional educational performances”.

She joined the Governor to advise and encourage Fatima to go for her studies and come back to contribute her quota to the development of Kogi state and Nigeria while being a source of inspiration to others.
