PRESS STATEMENT : Kogi State Governor Undertakes Distribution Of Voting Materials
The Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples' Democratic Party notes and hereby announces that shortly, sensitive and other crucial voting materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shall arrive Kogi State.
This is pursuant to the February 16th presidential and national assembly elections.
Whereas this council would have wished to commend the national headquarters of the INEC for its commitment to ensuring a timely and seamless distribution of sensitive and crucial voting materials, we are compelled by crystal clear evidence which confirm the existence of a repugnant collaborative effort between the INEC and the outgoing governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello to query the exact intentions of the INEC in Kogi State as led by Prof. James Akpam.
More than ever, Kogites are worried that just this morning, Prof. James Akpam proceeded to the Lokoja office of the Central Bank of Nigeria to confirm if the materials are available for pick.
While this exercise is typical of and acceptable from any objective and clear headed umpire, it is absurd that in the case of Kogi State, Prof. James Akpam acted on the orders of the accidental governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello.
What this means is that a party fielding candidates in the elections and has other vested interests in the process is more aware of the movement of sensitive materials than the umpire who now relies on that party for instructions on what to do, how to do it, where it should be done and when it must be done.
This is suffice to say that it was the governor who instructed the resident electoral commissioner as a master would order a servant to proceed to the CBN.
Notwithstanding this newest development which is at best a system anomaly and an operational risk of high propensity, Kogites are enthusiastic and in high spirits because as far as we know, the great day of liberation from the grips of penury, misery, death and gnashing of teeth is February 16th 2019.
While this council is closely monitoring the situation going on in government house, the INEC office, Lokoja and the Central Bank, we sternly warn the parties involved to behave themselves.
We notify Prof. James Akpam and Yahaya Adoza Bello that the consequences of attempting to rig the coming federal elections will be dire as no member of the rigging team will be spared.
We strongly advise them and other members of their gang of bandits to perish any thoughts of interfering in the electoral process because the slightest interference will trigger a strong reaction with grave implications on the principal actors.
We are aware of the contents of their rigging manuals.
We are equally aware of just everything their rigging agents were taught in their rigging training sessions.
Our demand of then is simple - Do not interfere in the voting process and let the votes count a failure of which will cause Kogites to strongly demand and obtain the leadership we all yearn for.
Signed.
