Muyiba Emerges Champion of Ihima Students' Union Debate Challenge
Comrade Yusuf Muyiba has been declared champion of the maiden edition of Ihima Students' Union (ISU) online debate challenge.
After an intensive intellectual battle, Muyiba defeated other four contestants to clinch the first position and crowned as the champion of the first online debate challenge of the oldest students' union in Ebiraland.
Declaring the results, the chief judge of the competition, Comrade Yusuf Haruna said, though all the constants have performed excellently well but in any competition theye must be a winner amongst the equals, the result he said Muyiba defeated other contestants to emerge the champion in a debate topic titled, "The Role of Students in Ensuring Violence Free Election".
Showing her gratitude shortly after declaring her as the winner of the highly rated competition, Muyiba said, it wouldn't have been possible without the good initiative of the sponsors of the programme, praying to God to replenish their pockets.
Appreciating the judges, Muyiba said, "well done to the judges for taking your time to read through an impromptu write-up. I shall do better as you've said.
"To my fellow contestants, we all did a wonderful job and I must say it is a privilege working with you. We are all winners.
"To the entire members, thanks you all and specially to Rahimat thank you for forwarding the write-up", she said.
Muyiba, an immediate past Secretary General of the union, is a graduate of National Diploma, Laboratory Science from Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The online debate challenge of Ihima Students' Union is a new initiative by the union sponsored by MidSpecial Concepts and PHEEZ Exclusive Enterprise.
Ihima Students' Union was established in 1959 as the first students' unionism in Ebiraland to serve as an umbrella body for students of Ihima origin.
The union organises spelling bee for primary school pupils, quiz, debate competition for secondary schools in Ihima district as well as scholarship programme for outstanding students, launching of magazine and talent hunt annually.
