Kogi APC is Hell Bent on Rigging Forth Coming Elections -SDP

Social Democratic Party (SDP) has accused Kogi State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to rig the February 16th elections in the state in favour of her candidates.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the acting Chairman of Kogi State chapter of SDP, Alh. Mouktar Atimah alleged that Kogi APC is hell bent on rigging the forth coming general election in the state especially in Kogi Central senatorial district where the governor hails from.

Adding that part of the plan of Kogi APC is to divert electoral materials to the personal residence of Governor Yahaya Bello and cause unrest few days to election and on the day of election through the use of thuggery and imported Bakasi militia to create tension for people not to come out and exercise their franchise.

He alleged that, the state governor has vowed on series of occasions that he will do everything possible and fights with his Las drop of blood to deliver APC in Kogi Central.

Atimah decried that the security agencies in the state have made themselves an extension of governor Yahaya Bello's cabinet which he said can be seen in the manner in which the security in the state handled several reported cases of attacks on Kogi Central SDP Senatorial candidate, Barr. Natasha Akpoti and her supporters and the subsequent release of the suspected killers of one of the supporters of Natasha, Ojo Enesi despite video evidences  of the confession statements of the suspects.

He called on the security agencies in the country, INEC and International Organisations to consider Kogi Central as a flashpoint area and beam its search light on it to monitor, and supervise the election in the senatorial district to prevent further occurrence of Kogi APC undemocratic practises during election.

Similarly, Kogi Central SDP senatorial candidate, Barr. Natasha Akpoti said it is unfortunate that Kogi APC resulted to political thuggery, harrassing and maiming of her members instead of issue based campaign.

Akpoti pointed the brother of late Ojo Enesi who was in the same room with Enesi the day the APC thugs dragged Enesi out shot him in the head and other family members of her supporters who had suffered undue persecution in the hands of Kogi APC thugs.

"The young lady here is the wife of late Enesi, she is pregnant with the first child of Enesi, the  woman beside her is the mother of Enesi. The other lady at the extreme end is the wife of my supporter, Friday Ovoro that was abducted on 23, till today his whereabouts is still unknown but information available suggests that the Boat security of the state governor was responsible for the abduction and currently in their custody to force him to make confession under duress and rope me for gun running.

"The wife of Mr. Friday is heavily pregnant, she was around when her husband was dragged out and taken out of his house in Ohueta, Ihima Okehi LGA. Governor Yahaya Bello and Kogi APC subjected these people to psychological torture for the simple crime of supporting me."

Speaking, Kashim Abdulrasheed, the relative of late Ojo Enesi who was in the same room with Enesi the day he met his unfortunate end said, "I was inside when the APC thugs came in and knocked our door, and dragged Enesi Ojo out and shot him in the head. I saw them, It was Ojo Inna that shot my brother", he said.

Abdulrasheed further disclosed that It was the grace of God that saved him from the hands of the Kogi APC thugs the day his brother was killed.
