Gov Yahaya Bello Lifts Lockdown On Kabba Bunu LG
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has lifted the absolute lockdown on Kabba Bunu local government, the local government of the alleged COVID-19 index case in Kogi Sate.
The governor lifted the lockdown on a press conference on Friday, at the state capital, Lokoja.
Yahaya Bello noted that all the test conducted in the local government came out negative, adding that the contact tracing done also came out negative which necessitated the lifting of the ban in the local government.
The governor lifted the ban three days after the lockdown and contact tracing and testing of the people in the local government.
According to him, the purpose of imposing the lockdown in the local government has been accomplished and there will he no need for the lockdown to continue for the initial 14 days earlier declared.
Yahaya Bello, however, maintained that Kogi State remains COVID-19 free and will continue to reject any fictitious cases allocated to the state.
Recall that the Obaro of Kabba and chairman Okun Traditional Council, HRM, Dele Owoniyi had earlier begged the governor two days ago to relax the two weeks lockdown imposed on his people, and begged the governor that his people cannot survive the two weeks lockdown.
