Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has commended President Mubammadu Buhari for flaging-off Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano, AKK, gas pipeline, describing it as a foresight that will lead to unprecedented development of the country.
Governor Yahaya Bello made this known on Tuesday during the official inauguration of the project in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.
Yahaya Bello and Kaduna State Governor, Mall. Nasir El-Rufai were physically on ground for the flagging-off and the commencement of the project at Ajaokuta and Rigachikun sites, said the importance of the project to the development of Nigeria cannot be overemphasized.
The flagging-off of the project took place with the physical presence of Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Nasir El-Rufai while President Muhammadu Buhari watched via video- conference from the Council Chamber in Abuja.
Bello noted that when completed, the project will provide the desired stimulus to domestic industrial growth and also boost the domestic energy infrastructure of Nigeria.
The Governor disclosed that he is happy to know that an indigenous company, Oilserv Limited, is part of the companies handling the project.
Bello, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving hope and confidence to local companies in the country, adding that President Buhari is replicating the revolution in the agricultural sector in the energy sector of the country.
The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline project is, however, expected to be competed within two years.
