Kogi State has recorded two cases of COVID-19 as the first cases to be recorded in the state in the last three months Coronavirus hits Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a daily reports of the pandemic reported yesterday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, which disclosed that 389 cases of the virus were discovered on Wednesday with two of the cases discovered in Kogi State.

Until yesterday, Kogi State and Cross River State were the only two states in Nigeria with zero case of the deadly virus since it was first reported on February 28 in Nigeria.

Recall that Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has had issues with the NCDC leadership after the Governor insisted that his state doesn't have COVID-19 and ordered the officials of the agency who went to the state to take blood samples for test to be quarantined.

Nigerians have reacted, saying the two confirmed cases in Kogi State are either errors or the government of Yahaya Bello might have bowed to pressure from NCDC.

However, the state commissioner of Health, Dr. Saka Haruna is yet to comment and confirm the conffirmed cases in Kogi State as at the time of filing this report.

Nigeria now has 8733 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 254 deaths while 2501 has been discharged.
