Kogi SIP Sets To Pay Poor People N20,000
Kogi State government through the state office of National Investment Programmes, Kogi-SIP, is set to pay N20,000 each to 60,000 poor people around the state.
The beneficiaries identified as vulnerable household will benefit from the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, across 21 local government of the state.
In a statement on Friday, the Head of the Focal Person of Kogi SIP, Abdulkareem Suleiman Onyekehi, said the decision was inline with the recent national broadcast of President Muhammadu Buhari on the Federal Government's palliative measures to the poor people during the stay at home order because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He disclosed that the first phase of the payment of N20,000 to poor people in the state will start from Monday 6 April to Wednesday April 22.
Onyekehi added that the payment will capture 34,000 existing beneficiaries across the 21 local government of the state and another 27,000 beneficiaries across the state which he said is the fresh data of poor people in the state to bring the total beneficiaries to 60,000.
According to him, the 27,000 fresh data of poor people in the state will be in the second phase of the exercise.
