Kogi State Civil Servants have rejected the 50% Salary Cut by the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
While priefing their members in a meeting in Lokoja yesterday, the chairman of Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Kogi chapter, Comrade Onuh Edoka, told its members that the state government has proposed to slashed their April salaries by 50%, telling the various Heads to gather their members for further action.
The workers' union lamented that there is no reason for pay cut adding that the state government received the monthly allocation in full.
The workers who resolved to reject the pay cut lamented that it is wicked to have 50% salary cut at this time of covid-19 where the prices of food stuff have skyrocketed as they remain at home.
Kogi NLC, is currently waiting for feedback from various unions before taking a final decision.
It will be recalled that the officials of Kogi State government had earlier meet with the Local Government union of NULGE to beg them to accept less than 50% salaries they have been receiving in the last few months.
