Anxiety In Kogi As Villagers Retaliate, Killed Two Herdsmen

There is palpable fear in Kogi State, as villagers in Yagba area of the State as villagers allegedly killed two herdsmen in what is believed to be a retaliation.



The bodies of the slain herdsmen were found in a bush between Imela and Ogbom villages in Yagba East Local Government Area of the State.

The killing of the two herdsmen were traced to be a retaliation an earlier attack on Ogbom man on Saturday night which was alleged to have been carried out by herdsmen.

The man which was identified as Lekan was returning from Imela to his village, Ogbom, when he was robbed and macheted in the head and currently at the ICU of ECWA Hospital in Egba.

The attack was said to have spurred the villagers to go on reprisal attack on the herdsmen in the area.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Police Command could not be reached to explain the step the command has taken to restore normalcy in the area.
