Our Ancestors Are With Gov. Bello, Don’t Fight Them, Senator Adeyemi Tells Teejay Yusuf, Sam Aro

The Director General, Yahaya Bello campaign organisation, Senator Smart Adeyemi has cautioned the Director General of PDP Campaign Council, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf and the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Chief Sam Aro not to forget Okun ancestors, telling resign them to their positions.

Adeyemi said the traditional institution along with major stakeholders in the Western senatorial axis had already taken a stand for Yahaya Bello second term, stressing that anyone who act contrary in the zone amount to fighting the ancestors.

The senator, who spoke on Friday in Lokoja during a visit to the NUJ Press Centre, said the ethnic stand of the PDP governorship candidate warrant the duo to throw in the towel.

Adeyemi said the PDP guber candidate’s statement during AIT interview on Thursday is sad development. He stated that PDP’s Musa Wada’s ethnocentric comments is coming at a period when Kogites had already queued behind Governor Yahaya Bello’s view at uniting all ethnic groups.
Advising the PDP Director General, Reps member Tajudeen Yusuf to resign his appointment, Adeyemi said failure will amount to him running against the wishes of the people.

“I advise my brother who hailed from the same federal constituency with me, Teejay Yusuf, to resign as their DG; so as not to allow our ancestors to rage against him.

“As we stand, the Obaro of Kabba, who is the chairman, Okun traditional council, along with Elulu of Mopa, Agbana of Isanlu, Elegbe of Egbe, Olujumu of Ijumu and other traditional institutions across Okun land coupled with critical stakeholders have all endorsed Governor Bello for another term. Anything he does contrary to this is an attempt to confront a moving train with the strength of a pick up van.

“The traditional institutions through divine guidance has resolved to throw their weight for Yahaya Bello, Teejay Yusuf must take that into account.

“Nobody who has represented or who is representing our people will go against the divine guidance of the traditional institutions. Doing so amount to incurring the wrath of the ancestors.

“His (Yusuf) political carrer will be in serious jeopardy and his representation will become anti – people. As a senior brother, I advice him to quit his position before he’s tagged anti-people. He should be courageous to tell his party to go back to the drawing board in 2023, this election has been concluded.

“For Aro, he should put into perspective the utterances of his governorship candidate which amount to telling him that his people are inconsequential in the state. It is parochial, and amount to hate speech.

“This election is too important for Kogi West people to freight away; the election is beyond the social media rhetoric,” he said.

Stressing further, Senator Adeyemi said “There is no moral or political justification for anybody to campaign for a candidate who is a younger brother to a former governor and also double as an in-law to another former governor. More disheartening to say that thess families all contributed to Kogi woes which Governor Bello is tackling gradually.

“If former governor Ibrahim Idris, who is a father in-law of the candidate, can reject his appointment as Chairman Campaign council, I don’t know what Teejay is still waiting for. I advice him to decamp to APC, our doors are opened, we await his arrival.

“Teejay should follow the part of honour and integrity, thank PDP and quit. Many who have rejected their appointment in the campaign committee constituted knew the woeful outcome that await them”
