LEADS Award To Barrister Natasha Akpoti: A Call To Raise The Sword Of Justice To Liberate The Masses-Isah Bala

It is often said that in an ideal society, the best way to evaluate the efforts of an individual to societal building is through the elites who often without fear or favour give fair assessment of an acclaimed 'selfless leader', bring his/her hiding motives to fore and at the same time project him/her before the public.

Barrister Natasha Apoti by all standard is a paragon for the youths who want to serve humanity and defend the rights of the masses without ulterior motives to emulate and a perfect example to those who refute the unquantifiable roles of women in societal building.

Without mincing words,  Barrister Natasha Akpoti has shown an exemplary qualities of an ideal human right activist, and has resounded the avowal of Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan  of the blessed memory who opines that "When you deprive people of their right to live in dignity, to hope for a better future, to have control over their lives, when you deprive them of that choice, then you expect them to fight for these rights."

The award presented to Natasha Akpoti by the League of African Development Students (LEADS) as Africa's Patriotic Amazon is not coming as a surprise.

Against all odds, perceived dangers, Barrister Natasha Akpoti fronts the crusade for Ajaokuta revival, shoulders the campaign for industrialized Nigeria with all her might. She defied the threat and defamatory publications of the cabals, entered their evil fiefdoms and fought for the rights of the masses. Hence, receiving an award as African Patriotic Amazon from such a reputable organization is something one would not see as surprise.

By all standard, our generation has been blessed with another Queen Amina of Zauzzau Kingdom who stood amidst terror to defend her people with all her might.  Natasha Akpoti, is repeating the same, amidst terror and threats from the so-called cabals who know nothing than selfish interest and inordinate ambition, she has picked the sword of industrialisation and and an armour social justice to fight the enemies of our societal progress and liberate the society from the inflicted anguish and squalor.

The award,  is a call for Barrister Natasha Akpoti to raise her sword more than it was, rededicate her strength to fight for the poor and victimized masses, raise her voice louder for the voiceless masses to be heard.

Be rest assured that as you travail through this dreaded lane in the quest of liberating our society from its present nauseating situation, the prayer of the victimized masses you represent will never let the plans of the evil doers materialise on you.  You will enter their evil fiefdom and bring back the right of the masses,  you will triumph just like Queen Amina of Zazzau Kingdom triumph amidst fierce men.

The Amazon of our time, you will always have our unalloyed support come what may.
comrade Isah Amoto Bala, Ihima Students' Union National President.
