Ife Crisis: Afenifere Calls For Unconditional Release Of Oba Ademola, Others
Afenifere has called for immediate release of Ife indigenes including Oba Ademola Ademiluyi who have been moved to the Osun State Police command headquarters in Osogbo as a result of the March 8 crisis in the ancient city.
This was made known through his National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yinka Odumakin said; “Afenifere demands the immediate release of the five detainees from custody. In the alternative they should be charged to court without delay if they have established any offence against them. We thank all lovers of freedom who have raised their voices against the unjust incarceration of Ife 21.”
It will be recalled that 38 people were arrested as a result of the Ife clash between the Yoruba and Hausa communities in ancient town but only 20 of them, including a traditional ruler, who were all Yoruba were paraded at Abuja Force Headquarters.
