KSU SUG President Impeached

After the much debate on the actions of Kogi State University students' Union President, Comrade Shaibu Philip Omepa which led to his earlier suspension, the students' Union leader has been finally impeached today.


The House in its sitting today 21 April, 2017 resolved after several delineation and a motion moved by Honourable member of the House Sen. Okolo Gabriel Papa representing department of Animal Production and seconded by Sen. Musa Bashir representing Faculty of law, that the executive President Comrade Shaibu Philip Omepa on the ground contained in the motion in accordance with the students Union government constitution.

Sen. Okolo Gabriel while moving the motion stated that: In line with article 10 section 1, paragraph (A)  of the students Union Government Constitution of Kogi State University, Anyigba I move a motion for the impeachment of the president of the union,  Comrade Shaibu Philip Omepa for the following reasons.

1. Embezzlement of fund For the building of student center

2. Refusal to appear before the union parliament after an investigation by the parliament

3. Embezzlemt of fund for NANS National  Convention and NANS zonal convention. Embezzlement of N240,000 and N95, 000 respectively.

4. Embezzlement of Students' Union Government Judiciary arm salary and that of some of the executives

5. Destruction of the union property ( i.e the bus)  and embezzling the fund for the repair of the vehicle.

6. Deceit of the students he is leading, by deceiving them severally and thwarting the students efforts for a peaceful demonstration.

7. Bringing disrepute to the union's image in the public by going into a fight with a fellow students and having himself beating up by the Nigerian military personnel.

8. Allegation of collection of bribe by students adhoc committee.

9. Incompetency on the part of the president.
