18-Year-old Kogi Girl Bath With Acid By Brother Cries For Help

18 years old girl Kogi girl, Munirat Alhaji bathed with acid by her brother has cried for help to save her life.               



Munirat,18, an indigene of Ojodu, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi was burnt by acid poured on her by her brother, is currently battling with her life in the female surgical ward of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lokoja.

It was gathered that her brother who has since been arrested by police, said their mother was responsible for his inability to be successful in life, a belief handed over to him by the witch doctor he consulted.

Narrating her ordeal, Munirat said she was sleeping on the unfaithful day at about 1:00am in the night of August 29, 2019 when she heard her mother was shouting from her room.

She revealed that when she rushed down to her mother's room, she discovered that her brother had poured acid on their mother's body and went further to heat her with stick.

According to her, her brother poured the same acid on her when she tried to stop him which has kept her in Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, adding that her mother died three months ago in the FMC, Lokoja, due to primary damage on her body by the chemical.

Munirat who is from a poor family called on Nigerians to come to her aid, begging Nigerians that she don't want to die like her mother.

Speaking, the doctor treating Munirat, Dr. Ebune Ojochide who is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with the FMC, Lokoja, said Munirat was admitted on August 29, 2019, with acid burns said a lot treatment has been carried out, adding that acid burn is not a case that can be worked immediately.

Dr. Ochojide disclosed that the major obstacle is fund for the surgery to improve her look and give the young girl hope of survival after the trauma, adding that her mother sustained primary damages that resulted to her death.
