Never Undermine Students’ Voting Strength In Elections, NAKOSS National Tells Aspirants

Just as the 2019 general election draws nearer, the mother umbrella of Kogi State indigenous students’ union body, National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) has advised all Political Aspirants in Kogi not to underrate Students’ roles in the forthcoming 2019 general election, stressing that their voting strength can not be overemphasized.

This message is the resolution of the association’s numerous indoor meetings with her national executives alongside the three tribal heads of the three senatorial districts in Kogi state namely Igala Students Union (I.S.A) for the East, National Association of Ebira Students (N.E.A.S) for the Central and National Association of Okun Students (N.A.O.S) for the West.

It has become imperative to note that having gone through the available Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Statistical analysis, Students carry a significant portion of the total numbers of eligible electorates (Voters).

The literary interpretation of the above, makes it obvious that our decision to turn out en-masse in this forthcoming 2019 general election will definitely help in determining the winning strength of all aspirants irrespective of political parties.

Hence, NAKOSS is calling on all Aspirants irrespective of political affiliations to kindly make themselves available to the NAKOSS National Secretariat with their manifestoes to enable us have proper overview and dialogue on whether those manifestoes covers the interests of Kogi Students or not.

Since NAKOSS National is the mouthpiece of all Kogi Students, our abilities to have wonderful rapports with aspirants on their manifestoes would go a long way in determining students’ level of negotiations with aspirants on manifestoes driven towards students’ welfare inclusively.

We further enjoin aspirants not to take students for granted as it has been the attributes of some politicians to use and dump students before and after elections respectively.

The incumbent NAKOSS Administration is seriously concerned on building and rewarding student’s efforts and would not condole any acts from any aspirant that is geared towards abusing students’ rights.

While we sue for a free, fair and credible election, we promise on our own part to be law abiding citizens and play active roles in the forthcoming general elections.

Conclusively, we are reiterating on the importance of aspirants to make available to our national Secretariats copies of their manifestoes, and for them to also avail themselves in person for proper recognition irrespective of political party affiliations.
NAKOSS National is for all without prejudice or discriminations of any sort.

Thanks and God bless.
ALUTA CONTINUA VICTORIA ASATA!!!
