2019: Dino, Others to Face Primaries as Kogi West PDP Stakeholders Reject Automatic Tickets

Senator Dino Melaye and other National Assembly members aspiring for return ticket will now face primaries following the decision of the stakeholders of the Kogi West axis of the party.

According to Kogi Reports, After the just concluded closed door meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency at General
Jemibewon’s residence in Iyah-Gbedde, Ijumu local government area of Kogi State, the leaders and stakeholders laid to rest the burning issues agitating for decision in the last couple of weeks in the state especially Kogi west senatorial district.

Recall that Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency has been in the news over the issue of automatic ticket for Senator Dino Melaye and the pressure on Honourable Tajudeen Yusuf to drop his senatorial ambition which has resulted to over ten meetings both at the constituency and in Abuja where the issue occupied the front line of discussion with the national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus and some national working committee members without any logical conclusion.

This no doubt has generated more heat in the political atmosphere than ever before as most party members and supporters were afraid that these issues if not resolved may see the end of PDP in a federal constituency that is one of the strongholds of the party.

The leaders of the federal constituency rose from a meeting on Sunday after carefully analyzing and considering the implications of dishing out an automatic ticket. They resolved that in the spirit of fairness, equity and justice as enshrined in the party constitution, that aspirants at all levels should go for primaries.

This has now put to rest all the agitations for the incumbent National Assembly members to get automatic ticket of the party.
Those in attendance were: General Jemibewon,  Hon Abiodun Ojo,  Hon Owotogbe, Chief SK Adedoyin, Prince Sola Akanmode.
Others are Hon. Joseph Dada, Dr Stephen Olorunfemi,
