#KogiDecides: I Will Ensure Effective Economy to Prevent Crime - Natasha
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for November 16 election in Kogi State, Barr Natasha Akpoti, has said she will work to ensure Kogi State economy is effective to prevent crimes when elected as the state governor.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate made this known while addressing newsmen in Abuja, on Saturday, saying an effective economy that guarantee job opportunities for the teeming youth will prevent crimes in the state.
Akpoti said, "When elected, my primary assignment as a governor is to ensure safety of lives and properties.
"Crime thrives in a poor society, I will ensure there's an effective and running economy where the youth will be engaged and wouldn't have time to start thinking of crime.
"There are many opportunities in the state to utilise and change the narrative for better.
"Kogi state has 32 mineral deposit in commercial quantity, we will tap into this to turn the fortune of the state and create opportunities for every citizen to harness", she said.
