Kogi Guber: Stop Harassing Council Workers, PDP Warns Ijumu Administrator
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, Hon Taufiq Isah, to desist from harassing and intimidating Local Government workers in Ijumu for electoral gain of Governor Yahaya Bello.
A statement by the campaign council of PDP in Ijumu said the party authoritatively gathered that the Administrator is forcing all local government workers to sign a commitment that Al Progressives Congress (APC) must win in their polling units and by extension, their wards or they lose their job.
The statement signed by Pastor Stanley Ajileye, Chairman, Publicity Committee of the campaign council, posits that the council boss is forcefully extracting the permanent voters card (PVC) details of workers, along side their employment details, vowing to see to it that none of the staffers will return to office if APC does not win in their polling booths.
The campaign council insisted that civil servants, whether at Local Government, State or Federal level, are constitutionally free to make political choices of which candidate to vote for and which party to support.
It berated this new trend being introduced by Taofiq, describing it as barbaric and shameful.
The PDP council emphatically urged workers to remain resolute in the defence of their right, reminding them not to forget the hardship they have been subjected to in the last four years of APC government.
