Natasha Marks Birthday With Ebira Communities, Charges Them to Shun Vote Selling
In her quest for good governance, the Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Kogi Central senatorial district, Barr. Natasha Akpoti on Sunday marked her birthday with Ebira communities in Abuja, saying the only way to sustain the future is to vote wisely without considering the highest bidder.
Akpoti who graced programmes of Ihima Vonya Association, Ashegwumengwu Women Association, and Ebira Muslims Congress, Abuja branch.
Addresing the members of Ebira Muslims Congress in their annual prayer session, Natasha said though it is not a political gathering but the gospel of good governance must be preached in every nooks and crannies where Ebira people are present to reawakening the mind of the people to stand up and join the crusade for a new Kogi Central.
In her words, "Everybody here was once a child, in years to come, our kids are expected to earn a living and be a man on their. But the decision we make today will determine their tomorrow, Nigeria did not arrive at this state in one day, it's as a result of the actions of individuals who brought us to this level we are today", she said.
She pointed out that People often asked her motives behind her relentless efforts to bring Ajaokuta back on track, the SDP senatorial candidate said, her struggle to make the federal government revive the national asset is because it can erase the povery in the land and diversify Nigeria economy.
"Every struggle always has a face to it, South Africa apartheid policy has Nelson Mandela, Black struggle in America has Martin Luther King Jr, I am here to be your voice and represents your interest.
"The peanuts they share at polling booth cannot cater for your needs, it's time to stand for the future, vote and stand to defend your vote.
"I am here to fight for all of us, I know what this struggle has cost me but I can't give up because I want my children and your children to have opportunities and work in Ajaokuta without having any cause to stay jobless, give me your mandate and I will never disappoint you," she said.
While praying for sustainable peace in Ebiraland, the Chief Imam of MCON, Imam Badamasiu Muhammad said it is about time Kogi Central got it right and has someone who will fight for the people, soliciting for God's intervention to protect Natasha and foil the plans of enemies of peace in the Ebiraland.
Imam Muhammad said MCON is apolitical but it has become necessary to sensitize their memebers and declare there support for Natasha because of her efforts to set things right in Ebiraland, adding that good representation can only be achieved when the electorate are
conscientised.
In the same vein, Ashegwumengwu Women Association declared the association's support for Natasha in 2019 election while Ihima Vonya Association also declared their unalloyed support for Natasha candidacy.
