Okino Lauds Judiciary, Pledge Renewed Commitment To Ajaokuta Constituency

The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the March general election, Aloysius Okino has commended the Appeal Court for its land mark judgement that nullified the victory of All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Okino commended the courage of the jurists for standing first and tall for the course of justice, fairness and for its independence.

“The judiciary once again has lived up to the expectations of the ordinary citizens of Nigeria with the judgement which sacked Lawal Idris for massive electoral fraud.

“The judiciary as the last hope of the common man has demonstrated that all hope is not lost, despite several challenges.

“The choice of our people was subverted, they were denied the opportunity to freely choose their representative. We thank God that the judiciary has aligned itself with the wishes of the people.

“No one can force himself or herself on the people. The power to choose our representatives was freely given to the people by our constitution,” he said.

He called on his teaming supporters to remain resolute and committed with a focus on the goal, which according to him is to elect a credible representative who would defend their collective interest at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

“I am committed to your course. A vote for me is a vote for our collective destiny. I promised as always that I will never take your support for granted. I have always shared in your pains and I have also rejoiced with you in your moment of joy. I have not changed. This is the promise I have made to God Almighty. There is light at the end of the tunnel.”
