The Impeached Deputy Governor stated this while briefing newsmen on his ordeal after what he termed his illegal impeachment, says there is no other time for the nation to be fully in the picture of lawlessness that obtains in the state other than now.

Elder Achuba described his ordeal as the height of the disobedience of the rule of law which should be the major driver in a democracy, observed that the actions of the administration in the state runs contrary to the change the APC represents.

Elder Achuba disclosed that even as a sitting deputy governor he was treated like a common criminal, held under house arrest, his house disconnected from the public power source, said even when he switched on to his generator, armed men, broke into his house, escorted a technician to disconnect the generator and went away with the battery.

He described the inhuman treatment given to him as completely illegal, a shame and an insult to the state, and nation in general, says the nation needs to rise against the lawlessness in Kogi state for democracy to make meaning in Nigeria.

Achuba described the sitting by the state assembly that impeached him as Kangaroo, says contrary to section 181 of the 1999 constitution as amended, it was wrong for the Assembly to have gone ahead with their illegal sitting when the committee report gave him a clean bill.

While insisting that he remains the Kogi state deputy governor, Achuba thanked the Judiciary and the panel members for standing by the truth, says it was regrettable that he could be locked up, placed under house arrest, forcefully ejected, with all his cars seized and locked up in government house.

The impeached deputy governor says current activities in the state could be likened to what obtain in a banana republic, called on the need for the Kogi state Commissioner of Police to be professional in his conduct, lamented that his action in his house arrest, withdrawal and subsequent return of his security details was unimaginable.

While insisting on seeking legal redress over his ordeal and impeachment, the former deputy governor urged the President, and the All Progressive Congress to look into the activities of the state governor as it is capable of impacting negatively on the fortunes of the party in the state.
