Opinion: Hameed the Bee in Hon. Ajoge Abu's Ear that killed Hon. Ajoge's Political Career | Muhammad Itopa Jamiu
The rise and fall of Hon Ajoge Enesi Abu, his rising career hit the brick because of the bee in his ears,Some might choose to turn history on its head will confuse future Adavians with amazing tales how humble and intellectually sagacious Ajoge Enesi Abu was,that he was a victim of circumstance,a deliberate plot by political stalwarts in Adavi against a meek and kind Ajoge.
This article is intended to set the record straight so that posterity will not be deceived by the fairytale of those who feel he was victimized.
Ajoge Enesi lost grip of his office as the sole administrator the day he allowed he's son in law hameed who was appointed as the Special Adviser on media and publicity also double as the defactor chief of staff and sole administrator he allowed him to dictate how and what to should be done,it was a case of deliberate self sabotage and hammed was the architect who played the greatest role in the fall from grace of Ajoge Enesi Abu
Faith propelled Ajoge Enesi to the office of Sole administrator, instead of wearing a cloak of humility and championing laudable project across Adavi he surrounded himself with those who became a beacon of political interference, most especially Hammed amongst his Aides over stretched his boundaries, he ran Ajoge administration like a private entity,not allowing those who could give wise councel to Ajoge to have access to him.
Hammed who is from Okene and married to Ajoges daughter made sure that the dividents of democracy meant for Adavians was given to his brothers and family members in Okene,he diverted what was meant for Adavians to his people in Okene
Job opportunities from board of internal revenue,Nigeria civil defence cooperation,local government empowerment programs and a whole lot more,he made sure these juicy slot where given to his people in Okene.
Hammed the bee did not understand the leadership structures as he was too overbearing,he suffocated the life out of Hon Ajoge,s administration,he felt it was his boss's birthright to be in office alas it was just a privilege bestowed by Governor Yahaya bello and Adavians and Hammed and Ajoge will definitely not be missed
I must state categorically that he benefitted imensly from the failed government of Ajoge,he acquired a lot of properties,cars and three estate one in KABBA junction and the other two in nagazi,he controlled virtually everything including Ajoges private school,he takes care of the needs in his home front,up till the provision of domestic needs in the house which caused a stir between him and his wives and children who could no longer have direct access the their husband and father,Ajoge brothers also felt bad about the power hammed wielded over their brother that they had bad blood within them which he hammed had to travel to abuja to resolve with them because they felt their brother has become a shadow of himself,but after all conflict resolution means was exhausted, hameed maintained the strong grip over Ajoge and continued to dictate to him how to run his affairs both at the family level and in public office
As I write this now,bags of rice and empowerment materials meant for Adavians are still stocked up in Hammed house and a whole lot of things meant for Adavians are still in hammeeds pocession and I hope the new administrator will take stock of what is supposed to be in the local government and wherever there are discrepancies, he should be rest assured that the balance are with hameed
He point of the story is that people who want to succeed at something have to work with the right people,that have to surround themselves with people who really care about them and are able to guide them right not just those who are only interested in their pockets,people who will allow those who can make positive impact come in not the usual phrase used by hammed on Ajoge whenever he receives wise counsel, hameed is always quick to say "Daddy don't mind them" as if leadership is a father in law and son in law affair. Funny enough hammed was also the Special Adviser on media and publicity, he neither promoted his boss"in quote" nor was he even doing the job or rather he didn't understand what the job meant,in leadership it is not enough to be doing something, you must be seen to be doing something, Ajoges PR was a failure even if he was doing something right,He failed to invest in the media,the public relation aspect of government suffered,people could not relate with his government, they neither knew what he has done or what he plans to do and the reward for the poor investment in public relations made his government unpopular and led to his eventual sack.
Hon Ajoge may Have been popular when he was appointed but he blew the advantage by his woeful PR,the government failed to let the people what he was doing and why he was doing it,and how it will benefit the people.
Hameed damaged his reputation, the woeful manner hammed handled the affairs of Ajoge damaged any reputation he had,the people lost faith in him,he no longer made meaning to adavians ,he's presence irritated people and it was just a matter of time before he would be sent packing.
