Fatima Bombom Sanni who made history at the Nigerian Law School needs our help | Natasha H Akpoti

In 2015, intelligent Fatima made history by
breaking the Law School record in bagging 9
separate awards including “Best Student of the
Year” donated by Sir, Adetokunbo Ademola;
“Council of Education Star Award” donated by
Dr. Taslim Elias and Justice Atanda Fatayi-
Williams to mention a few.
Fatima Bombom Sanni

Beautiful Fatima made not only Nigeria proud,
she made Kogi State and the entire Ebiraland
proud. Fatima also called “Bombom” instantly
became a heroine to our daughters because she
epitomized the essence of female-worth and
capability.

However, I write today with a heavy heart.
Fatima, our legal genius was given NO scholarship in appreciation for her brilliant
academic performances. All Fatima had was tons of awards.

Fatima’s unfortunate story must open our eyes
to the harsh realities of our generational misfocus which grossly affects our collapsed
economy.

What message are we passing unto our youths if we reward a beauty pageant better than a first class genius?

How do we face God when we donate luxuries to our prophets while children of God who are the builders of our nation languish in need?

How do we tell our daughters to be like Fatima Sani when Fatima begs vulnerably for donations to help attain higher educational goals?

Worry and call-outs:
1. Federal government/ Mr. President. Fatima is
NOT lazy. She made our nation proud but was left alone to struggle her path with no incentives from the ministries of Education, Justice, Youth,
Women or the presidency itself?

2. Kogi State Government: Is it too much to ask for a state sponsored Masters degree scholarship for Fatima Sani to any university of her choice?
National or international

3. Women organizations : You have championed
the girl-child education but cannot support a real
heroine. Not good at all.

4. Banks, telecommunications and other corporate organizations: If it were beauty
pageantry, Fatima would have been given cars and loads of money by you ... but can’t pledge educational support for the development of
Nigeria’s human capital.

5. Nigerian federal universities ... I expected no
less than 10 scholarships from our universities.
What would it cost you to add an extra brain to a
class?

It hurts deep when we see other countries
appreciate their and even our citizens by going
extra miles to support education by celebrating
young heroes in REAL scholarships.

My prayer is to see one or more prominent
government and non-governmental institutions
come to the educational aid of our beloved Fatima.

Let’s begin to appreciate substantial development of our most precious resources...
human capital .
God bless us all
