2019: Asuku welcomes defectors, canvasses for support
The aspirant vying to represent the people of Adavi Local Government Area at the Kogi State House of Assembly come 2019, Ishaq Asuku Ilyas, Saturday, attended the defecting rally held at Okunchi to welcome new defectors and canvasses for the support of the people to actualise his dream.
The aspirant who attended the defecting rally with his mammoth supporters promised to work for the promotion of All Progressive Congress in the council while ledging support for the new Administrator of the Local Government, Hon Joseph Omuya Salami.
According to him, the APC in Adavi and Kogi state is a formidable party.
While welcoming the defectors to the Party he urged them to be loyal to the cause of the New Direction government led by Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
"Governor Bello is ready and committed to right the wrongs of the past Administration which has jeopardized the fortunes of Kogi state in the past," he said.
The aspirant sought for the support of the people of Adavi constituency adding that he is ready, willing and capable of standing for the good people of Adavi in the State House of Assembly come 2019, promising to focus on three cardinal areas, which he listed as social security, youth and women empowerment and self reliance if given the mandate.
The rally which was witnessed by the large supporters of Governor Bello in Kogi central,
