In her quest to promote the standard of education in Ihima and help the less privileged children, Ihima Students' Union (ISU) an umbrella body for students of Ihima origin gives scholarship to 35 pupils who are mostly orphans.

The scholarship programme sponsored by an ISU product; the Director General Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation Mr. Abdulmalik Abdulkarim  held on 18th November, 2017 was witnessed by traditional rulers, parents and school proprietors.

Speaking on the mission of the sponsor, Mr. Isaiah Amodu who represented the sponsor said "Mr. Abdulmalik is a product of this land, he was able to reach where he is today because he was able to have sound education.

"This is why he vowed to give from the little at his disposal to help the less privileged children to have education. Use the money for the purpose is ment for, " he advised the parents.

Amodu added that "there is nowhere in the books of religions that enjoin people to curse their leaders for whatever reason, we must continue to pray for governor Yahaya Bello to succeed.

"There might be areas we want improvement, but there is need to be patient while supporting him with prayer to succeed, " he said

Giving his speech, the President of the union, Comrade Isah Amoto Bala noted that "though the task of being a leader of students of Ihima origin is highly demanding but he is determined to change the course of history and has taken the welfare of Ihima students as his utmost priority."

He therefore enjoins parents of the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, adding that he is a beneficiary of Ihima Students' Union scholarship in his secondary school days, the reason he did everything possible to reciprocate the gesture.

The traditional rulers while appreciating the humanitarian service of Mr. Abdulmalik led the gathering to offer prayer for the game changer who has changed the status quo.
