Natasha Bags National Youth Assembly Icon of Transformation Award

The SDP senatorial candidate for Kogi Central in the general election, Barr. Natasha Akpoti, on Monday, was awarded as an icon of transformation by Nigerian youth under the aegis of National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN).

The Youth Assembly led by its speaker, Comrade Usman Saidu said Natasha has redefined the hope of a new Nigeria and reaffirmed the value of youth as the hope of the country.

Saidu said what endeared the Youth Assembly to Natasha is her virtue, principles and her courage in the face of intimidation which he said has set a breakthrough for women in politics especially from the northern part of the country.

According to him,  "Natasha Akpoti is highly principled, morally balanced and socially interesting."

The Youth Assembly leader said there wouldn't have been anything worthwhile than to encourage Natasha to do more by awarding her exceptional virtue and identify with the feet she has attained in a time of political intimidation and persecution.

Saidu noted that National Youth Assembly is a registered non partisan group aimed at encouraging youth in leadership and governance, promoting education, organising entrepreneurial programmes that will enhance youth self dependence, and sought the collaboration of Natasha to achieve their goals.

While appreciating the youth, Akpoti said the award is a challenge for her to do more and be more dedicated to service to humanity, encouraging them to lead by example and set  standards for other youth to trail.

Advising the youth, Akpoti pointed out that the National Youth Assembly should work on robust data management that will serve as a source of statistical information to their members and the general public.

According to her, it has always been a passion to talk to young people, adding that she believe they need mentorship, someone to talk to them and inspire them to achieve their dreams.
