Business Chat With Midspecial: Why Business Should Be Considered A Priority | By Rafael Ohueyi

Business chat with Meed is a live facebook video programme aimed at redirecting the mindset of Nigerian youths to be business oriented and at the same time productive.

The program which started three weeks ago on Facebook Live Video is being organized by Comr Hamid Amoto, Haruna aka Midspecial

On this episode, Raphael_Aka'aba Ohueyi talked on "why business should be considered a priority by the youth."

Read his full speech:

I will start by giving us some statistics about study scope and read-Kogi state. Since the creation of the state, civil servant has been the predominant workers and contribution to the growth of the economy of that state. About 75% are civil servant workers in kogi state, and this has varies too over time.

The major business stake holders in kogi central (Okene) to be précised are other tribes like Igbo's who came to established their business and earn a living as well. Then Hausa's and rest I may not mention.

Remember , farming is a cool business now in Nigeria as a whole.

So I will like to open our eyes, particularly we, the youth not to dance the ways of our fathers, mothers, sisters & brothers who suffers the hardship of bad governance due to the issues of unpaid salaries. Having depend solemnly on government job to survive without any investment and business set aside as back up.

It is risky thing to do. Let's engage ourselves with little business and pray to God to give increase.
I can relate many who start small and they are known today in business.
Business is a sure deal, is enjoyable too.

Three (3) reasons why business is very important and should be giving a priority is as follows:

1. Business is extremely important to the state or country's economy, because businesses provide both goods, services and jobs. Businesses do these things much more efficiently than individuals could on their own.

2. Businesses are means by which we get most of the goods and services that you/me as a consumers, want and need on daily basis. You as a youth must be looking for information about one or two things you need to do per time. We do social media and lots on the internet.

We are about to connect with "Midspecial" on this platform to discuss today because a man called "Mark Zukerberg" put Facebook together as his own brand and business to connect everyone around the whole world.
Almost everything we use in your everyday life was produced by a business and sold by yet another business.

Facebook & WhatsApp is a brand own by Mr Mark and all the networks ( Mtn, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile e.t.c) are benefiting from it today.
Am sure you're aware too that Mark is the 5th richest person in the whole world presently.

Coming to our locales, The farmers sold their cassava to a certain people or company as producers of it, garri is made from that cassava and sold back to the same society as food for consumption.
A lot of example we can relate by ourselves.

3.Businesses are also the means by which many people get their jobs. It create job opportunities because they need people to produce and sell their goods & services to consumers. Without businesses each individuals would have to create his or her own way of making a living. This could be very difficult. Thus, business are important because they provide goods, services and jobs. Without these things, nations or state economy would be much smaller and weaker than they are. With the 3 Highlights above, you can relate to the happening in our dear state, Kogi today. The business owners in the state are feeling the heat too because kogi is a civil servant state and 75% to 85% of them patronised them.

I will precede by giving a little illustrations and advice as I conclude this session here on "why must be consider a priority"...

The woman that start "morning fresh" we using to wash dishes (plates) today start it play, then give it a package and progress. Today morning fresh is everywhere in the country.

#Advice:
We must be creative and ready to crack our brains for ideas. The part of prayers for God to direct our path can't be treated aside too.

You can't be in an area where everyone is selling provisions, and you too join the provisions market staying there. Business won't move well like that, why not try selling kerosine, or firewood or anything else.

Secondly:
Start small and don't panic-
Steve jobs(Apple boss), Pichai (Google boss), Mark Zukerberg (founder and owner of facebook) all start small as a nobody and their commitment to their dreams and visions with doggedness of purposeful living earn them the household name, that we are all familiar with today. "Midspecial " start small as well, and gradually, we are feeling the hit back to back even in the city of Abuja, Kano, Kaduna as our clothing products is hitting everywhere. Ita-onochi is one and other various designs that follow after, am a living witness. Never despise the little beginning.
My bible tells me, that He that is faithful in small(little) shall be made a ruler over the big(large) ones in future.

Thirdly:
Learn to keep healthy and good association of friends, everybody can not be your friends. You may not be able to concentrate like that or think straight (focused) and discover ideas that ways.
People are coming up with new ideas to sell daily, in education sectors, health sectors, sport e.t.c join the train of those who wanna contribute to the growth of the state.

Before you start complaining of the present government, and what they should offers the citizens, also use that energy to think of what you can offers your society and make progress.

Rob mind with the like minds and share progress as you fix your focus firmly on your dreams, purpose and businesses in mind.
Thanks very much guys.
