Kogi Elections: Tribunal Moves to Abuja
Days after the conduct of Presidential and National Assembly elections, the election petition tribunal which is supposed to sit in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, has relocated to Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This was disclosed to journalists by the Tribunal Secretary, Mrs Aisha M'ohd Mana in a release made available on Wednesday.
M'ohd, who didn't reveal the specific FCT High Court where the sitting would be holding when the hearing begins, did not also state why tribunal is relocated to Abuja.
She, however, notified the police, the State Security Service (SSS), the media and the general public of the development, saying the specific location of the court will be disclosed soon.
She said, "Notice is hereby given to the police, the State Security Service (SSS), the media and the general public that the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal slated to hold in Lokoja, Kogi State has been relocated/moved to Federal Capital Territory High Court (FCT) Abuja."
