OPINION: BARRISTER EMMANUEL SHADRACH, SSA ON LEGAL MATTERS TO GYB DESERVES OUR ENCOMIUM- Comr Haruna Bashir, Comr Yusuf Haruna
"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." so say, Nelson Henderson.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on legal matters, Barrister Shadrach Emmanuel has continued to plant trees within the nooks and crannies of our society solely to build an ideal society and give education to the less privileged.
He has defied the age long believe which holds that "power intoxicate, if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
With his sense of humour, humility and generosity, the young Barrister has clearly shown that the excesses that come along with power can be tamed.
Barrister Emmanuel Shadrach might look young in his appearance, but he is a game changer, a man of intellect, and represent an ideal societal builder.
He is a visionary leader who has taken promotion of education a priority and see the need to give education to the less privileged in the society.
He has given meaning to the saying of Adekoge Adelabu of the blessed memory, who avers that "education is the foundation of freedom. Ignorance is the basis of slavery. If you would free a people, first and foremost, educate them.”
In less than a year in office, he has given scholarship to secondary school students around Okehi Local Area, and recently embark on tour to have a first hand information of the conditions of government hospitals across Kogi Central for a possible solution where he dished an amount of money to diabetic patient found almost dead in Specialist Hospital, Obangede.
His door is widely open for all and sundry and always pleased to give out to support the less privileged. He ascended the position of a pillar to Ihima Students' Union (ISU) and never despised whenever he's being called upon.
Without mincing words, Barrister Shadrach Emmanuel is an ideal societal builder, he's on the path to swat away the burden of less privileged and has set a record for posterity to reckon and eulogise.
It will be interesting to know that, his silent generosity is audible to the youths and many has taken him as role model.
He deserves our accolades and encomiums for these laudable achievements in a couple of months he assumed office.
As you trail this humane path and go contrary to the status quo, may you never lack and may you continue to serve meritoriously.
