Okene Administrator Reads Riot Act, Suspends Masquerades Outing

Sequel to the security situation in the area, the Administrator of Okene Local Government Administrator, Abdulrazaq Muhammad has directed members of Ebira Cultural Union, masquerade custodians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to suspend outing of masquerades of any kind under any reason within the local government.


The Administrator gave the directive at a security meeting with the leadership of Ebira Cultural Union and heads of security agencies in Okene to review security reports and take appropriate decisions.

He cautioned the people not to dare the will of government but adhere strictly to government’s directive as anyone found to have disobeyed the directive will face the full wrath of the law, irrespective of their position.

The Council Administrator maintained that government takes the security of lives and property of the citizenry as a matter of top priority and will take every measures within the ambit of the law to ensure the relative peace currently enjoy in the local government is sustained.

“On this note, security agencies have been detailed and stationed accordingly to implement this directive,” he said.
