Senator Dino Melaye who formerly represented Kogi West at the Senate, Dino Melaye, has berated those celebrating the electoral victory of Mr. Smart Adeyemi in last Saturday’s rerun election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Adeyemi the Senator-elect for Kogi West, having polled a total of 88,373 votes, compared to Melaye’s 62,133 votes.
Still smarting from the defeat, the self-professed “democratic evangelist” had tweeted on Sunday evening:
At another time, the ex-senator had tweeted in hope:
Taking comfort in biblical character, Daniel, who triumphed after extreme political persecutions, Melaye retorts, “My name is Daniel, I can not fall or fail”:
Earlier on Sunday, Mr. Melaye had taken umbrage at a newspaper headline:
He has since vowed to contest the results of the election at the elections petitions tribunal.
He also reiterated his popular statement — ‘Adeyemi is my political wife’
