Kogi East PDP Chairmen Demands Removal Of Sam Uhuotu As State Chair

Local government party chairmen from the nine LGAs in Kogi East senatorial district has unanimously called for the removal of Engr Sam Uhuotu from office as state chairman of the party.

In a four page resolution signed by the nine LGA chairmen, a seven point allegation was leveled against the leadership of Uhuotu. They accused him of deliberate refusal to convene stakeholders meeting to review the conduct of the November 16 governorship election in the state despite condemnations by both local and international communities.

They also alleged that the Uhuotu-led state executive did not react to the outcome of the election.

“Engr Sam Uhuotu led leadership of the party shunned any formal statement that will manifest his position in relation on the conduct of charade called election in the state on November 16 which witnessed mass killings and burning down of houses belonging to the supporters of PDP across the state,” the statement read.

The LGA party chairmen maintained that the attitude of the party leadership in the state shows glaringly that they are not on the same page with party supporters.

Uhuotu was also accused of ignoring all efforts and statements of witness that can assist the party to take necessary legal action to reclaim its stolen mandate.

It was revealed that Uhuotu diverted official tags and materials meant for party agents at all levels in Kogi Central – the polling units, wards, local government areas and state – having connived with his kinsman, Governor Yahaya Bello of APC to write results unchallenged.

They also alleged that Engineer Uhuotu absconded with monies meant for logistics by the party in the five local government areas in Kogi Central and thereby frustrated the chances of PDP from participating in the election across the senatorial district.

“The PDP state chairman was also involved in deep anti party activities and nocturnal meetings with the state Governor where he and his cohorts were heavily induced financially to dim the chances of the party in the last election.

“It is unwise to allow Engineer Uhuotu to continue to run the party at his whims and caprices. We have resolved and passed a vote of no confidence on the Engineer Uhuotu led leadership of PDP in Kogi state.

“No meaningful opposition and progress will be achieved if he continues as the state party chairman of PDP,” they said.
The LG chairmen warned that there will be dire consequences if Uhuotu is allowed to continue to lead the party in Kogi state.
