Kogi Guber: SDP Accepts APC Decampees

Ahead of November 16 governorship election in Kogi State, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Friday accepted into its fold members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, who decamped into the party.



Alh. Danlami Shaibu, who led APC decampees from Ajaka, in Igalamela local government, said it was time to join hands with Barr Natasha Akpoti to rescue Kogi State.

Pledging his support to his new party, Alh. Danlami expressed optimism that SDP will win November 16 governorship election, promising to propagating the message of hope by the party, and work for the success of Barr.Natasha Akpoti and Alh. Adams Khalid, the flag bearers of the party in the November polls.

Speaking, the Kogi SDP state chairman, Alhaji Mouktar Atimah assured the new members of the party of inclusiveness in the party's affairs, assuring them that the party will not only be on the ballot for the November 16 governorship election but win the election and lead Kogi to economic prosperity.
                               
The State Chairman chronologically carried the party faithfuls into a journey of the activities of the party since assuming office, stating some of the achievements and areas that needed to readjusted.

The state secretary of the party, Dr. Okeme Arome while eulogizing the founding fathers of the party in the area, particularly, late Stephen Achema, he charged the members to see the party as theirs and remain committed to its ideologies.

The party leaders earlier visited Idah local government to convey executives meeting and resolved to tackle issues and forge a better course that will lead to victory at the polls in the November 16th elections.
