Natasha Pays Condolence Visit to Ohionwa Clan
The SDP senatorial candidate for Kogi Central in the general election, Barr. Natasha Akpoti, on Friday, paid condolence visit to the people of Ohionwa clan over the death of Obobanyi of Ohionwa, Chief Jeremiah Aka’ava JP.
Akpoti who visited the immediate family and the clan council of the late world oldest monarch in Oboroke, Ihiman, OKehi local government area of Kogi State described the late royal father as a man of peace who stood for just cause when he was alive.
She said, "I hold dear in my heart the blessings of our late father, the lessons that he leaves through his examples will stay with us, and we are going to maintain the peace he preached and stood for in Ebirland.
"As I take my leave, remember in love and unity we can all grow and develop our society together", she said.
While praying for God to give tthe family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, Akpoti said the people of Ohionwa Clan, Ihima and Ebira at large will miss the late monarch for his peaceful dealings while on earth.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the eldest son of the late monarch, Aka’ava Angulu Emmanuel, described the death of his father as a big loss to the family, adding that his father lived a peaceful life and dedicated his entire life for the service of humanity, a lesson he said the family and the people of Ohionwa will always emulate.
According to Emmanuel, his father took over the mantle of leadership of Ohionwa clan in 1983 after serving as a Councilor to the people Ebira in Ijumu local government in the old kwara State.
Speaking on behalf of the clan, the chairman, Ohiowna Council, Hon. Edward Sani, said Nataaha has done what many men failed to do, describing her style of politics as peaceful and non violence, a virtue he said other politicians in Ebiraland should emulate.
Appreciating Natasha's contribution, Edward said Natasha's support for the final burial of their late traditional ruler is something the people of Ohiowna clan will not forget.
Edward, however, described the late monarch as a peaceful man, adding that it's their earnest prayer for the people of Ohiowna to be blessed with another Chief Jeremiah Aka’ava JP.
Until his death on April 26, Chief Jeremiah Aka’ava JP born in 1903 was the 12th occupant of Obobanyi of Ohionwa, Ihima, Okehi LGA of Kogi State, he ruled for about 36 years and became arguably the world oldest monarch.
