Guber Race: Kogi Electorate Are Tired Of Gov. Bello’s Inadequacies – OlogbondiyanJul
National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Kola Ologbondiyan has assured party members in Kogi state that the National Working Committee of the party will ensure a free, fair and credible primary election to elect governorship candidate for November poll.
Ologbondyan gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen during the PDP state congress in Lokoja on Friday.
He stated that the national leadership of the party is committed to a transparent primary election in Kogi because they are fully aware that the people of the state are looking up to PDP for rescue.
“For us in the PDP, the process for the governorship election in Kogi state has begun. I can assure you that the party at the national level will conduct a primary that will be free, fair, credible and transparent because we know that majority of people of Kogi state are looking up to the PDP to come and rescue them from the stranglehold of an incompetent government that we have in the state.
“I want to assure you that PDP will do everything that is legitimate to make sure we have a candidate that will oust Governor Yahaya Bello through the ballot,” he said.
Ologbondiyan hailed the party leadership in Kogi for conducting a peaceful and orderly state congress. He stated that PDP is well loved and trusted across the state.
He assured party supporters that the November governorship election will be a sharp departure from what was experienced during the recently conducted general elections in the state.
“I believe the PDP did well through the support of the people of Kogi state, however, we all know what happened in the state during the last elections; the manipulations, violence and the fact that people just sat down and wrote figures and supported it with barrels of the gun. I believe that with the promises and assurances from INEC, Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections will be free and fair. Kogi electorate have nothing to fear.
“The coming election will be determined by the electorate. The people are resolute; they are tired of hunger, arson, killings, suicides which has been registered in the life of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and as a result, the people themselves will come out and ensure their votes count for the governor of their choice.”
