OPINION | Natasha For Senate : Women Arise | By Hon.Onujabe Nasir

"The history of Mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyrany over her" -- Myrtle Langley
-- Equal Woman.

Women in politics all over the world and indeed Africa and Ebira nation has been a great phenomenon and fundamental in gender balance and equality as canvassed in Beijing, China declaration of 1985. Following the declaration, the United Nation Council targeted 35% women representation either in elective or Cabinet formation of government in developing Countries like Nigeria and other African nations as a beginner in the World order.

The coming of Barr.Natasha into kogi politics and Ebiraland in particular is indeed never a taboo but right step in the right direction as a fulfillment of Beijing declaration treaty which Nigeria is  signatory.

Narrowing down to our enclave (Ebira nation), she is not the first woman activist in history. We had the likes of onyai Iyebe of Ebiraland, Onono of Idogido ,Onyai Ivo and of course, Haj. Barikisu Niyass, etc. These people at there various time were key to the development of the land. In other climes women have led and performed wonders e.g Queen Amina of Zauzau, Magira Kili of Borno Kingdom, Emotan of Bini Kindom, Kambasa of Bonny Kingdom in Niger Delta (Ogoni land) and of course Nana Asma'u of Sokoto Caliphate.etc Thanks to Almighty Allah, He gives us Natasha at a time Ebiraland is in the wilderness.

It is highly disgusting and painful that women had over time been sideline in our political space despite their huge voting potential in the last 54yrs of Nigeria's independence. However, the time has come for women to rise to the occasion and tell the men that enough is enough as they have come of age to represent the people as being done in other tribes in the country. Thanks to Barr.Natasha Akpoti for offering her service in this direction.

She's offering her service for the overall development of the land and citizen's employment through her stuggle for the industrialization of the land and revival of our ailing Ajaokuta and Itakpe respectively.

Women arise and tell the men, enough is enough, that this is your time to send one of your own, (barr.natasha) to represent us at the  Red Chamber.Tell the men your life transcends the Kitchen and Political voting tool for all elections.

Be bold to be proud of her exemplary qualifications, exposure, networking and collaborative prowess and creativity to make a positive change.
Natasha is a golden fish in your oceans and the only Lioness in the jungle therefore, open and shine your eyes as this opportunity comes but once.

Vote one, Vote all for Natasha.

Long live Ebira Women!
Long live Kogi state!!
Long live Nigeria.
