Kogi, Ekiti, Imo, Others Lead As NLC Exposes States With Terrible Salary Payment

Kogi and five other States are on the news again for the wrong reason as the principal officer of the NLC, Comr. Ayuba Wabba released names of the States that have refused to pay workers or make public the bailout funds and the Paris club refunds they received.

According Waba, "Out of the 36 States in Nigeria, We have 10 bad case scenarios and out of these 10 bad case scenarios, We have six terrible ones. Namely: Imo state, Bayelsa state, Ondo state, Ekiti state, Benue state and Kogi State which is the worse case scenario."

The labour chief added that "We have three categories of workers in Kogi state at present. We have that of the 40% that has been paid up-to-date, We have that of 25% that hasn't been paid between 8 and 16 months and there is another one of 25% that hasn't been paid between 8 and 21 months."

The NLC Chief went further " As I speak to you, Both Zamfara and Benue states are already on strike and I'm aware that Kogi State has also concluded plan to join in conformity with the outcome of our last NEC meeting at which it was resolved that any state that is liable to the civil servants for more than three months should embark on an industrial action and we are very much ready to support them." he said
