The Director-General, Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik, who spoke in Lokoja, commended the state government for boosting information service.
He said the television station would go a long way in enhancing information dissemination and close the gap between the government and the people.

Speaking on the achievements of the present administration in the information sector, the Director-General said Governor Yahaya Bello renamed the erstwhile Ministry of Information as Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.

He also said that the government sustained and restructured the state newspaper corporation when many states of the federation could not maintain their print media, adding that the “new look Graphic Newspaper could favourably compete with any national newspaper in the country”.

Mr Abdulmalik said the recent approval by the state government to equip the state Broadcasting Corporation with Outside Broadcast (OB) Vans, standby generator and a Studio Transmission Link, would improve the operations of the corporation tremendously.

He further disclosed that comprehensive renovation of the transmitter house on Mt. Patti would start in earnest, adding that the governor embarked on the projects and many others in the face of dwindling state resources to monitor public opinion as well as meet the yearnings and aspirations of people of the state.

He therefore called on the people to support the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to assess good governance, stressing that the present government is people oriented.
